Monastery Ostrog and Capitol city

This is full day excursion to the most sacred place in Montenegro and one of the most important cultural historical monuments of the country. From Budva by the capitol city of Podgorica to the monastery Ostrog which is situated above Bjelopavlići plain and river Zeta.

Founded by Vasilije, the Metropolitan Bishop of Herzegovina in the 17th century placed against an almost vertical background, high up in the large rock of Ostroška Greda, monastery was a symbol of Christianity in 400 years long war against Ottomans.

First stop is on the settlement situated beneath monastery called Bogetići. After the stop journey go on a narrow road all the way up to the monastery complex. Complex of the monastery Ostrog is divided on two parts. On lower part is situated headquarter with church of Holy Vavedenje, and church of martyr Stanko. The upper part of the Monastery is part that is recognized for. With a unique church inside a cave where are preserved and exposed remains of Sr. Vasilije, this monastery is sanctuary for all people of the world, no matter which religion they belong. Connection between these two monasteries is organized by local mini buses.

When monastery visit ends, launch brake will be into village of Bogetići beneath monastery.

After launch brake drive back to Podgorica capitol city and visit Temple of Christ’s Resurrection. Situated in capitol city of Montenegro this brand new temple is main event center Of Ortodox Church in Montenegro.

After visiting of this glorious temple is scheduled returning back to Budva.
